Sapê
Long running, ongoing project about the community of Sapê do Norte in Brazil. Formed by quilombolas - or maroons, the descendants of enslaved people - this community fights the encroachment of large scale monoculture into their lands. This project combines photography and documentary, eventually leading to the development of a fiction feature film.
